Chandler, AZ is a beautiful city year-round, but we particularly enjoy summer. From sunrise hikes and water slides to trampoline parks and live entertainment, there is a lot to enjoy here. We know there are an overwhelming number of choices, so today, we are taking a closer look at our top three favorite summer activities that are within driving distance of Chandler.

1. Cooling Off at the Desert Breeze Park Spray Pad

Chandler’s Parks and Recreation Department maintains several parks, including three parks featuring spray pads. You can’t go wrong with any park, but we love the spray pad at Desert Breeze Park at 660 N. Desert Breeze Blvd. The ground spray and surf stones are very popular with kids, and there are several other spray features, too.

2. Throwing a Party at Desert Oasis Aquatic Center

Chandler also has six award-winning aquatic centers that are great for a wide range of activities. Our favorite aquatic center is the Desert Oasis Aquatic Center at 1400 W. Summit Place. You can get a great workout during public swim hours, reserve a lane for lap swimming, or enjoy the thrill of going down a 112-foot figure-eight water slide.

However, our favorite thing to do at Desert Oasis Aquatic Center is to use it as the venue for birthday parties. If you are throwing a party with over 25 people, you can rent the pool on weekends after 5 PM, and you will need to make your reservation three weeks in advance. If you want to have a small celebration, you can make a reservation with two-weeks notice during public swim hours.
