8 Signs Your Chevy Needs New Tires
To keep your Chevy safe, its tires need to be in good condition. Here are some clear signs you need new tires from your Chevy dealer.
1. The Tread Depth is Below 2/32 of an Inch

The most obvious sign that your Chevy needs a new set of tires is when the tread depth falls below 2/32 of an inch. Use a tread depth gauge to measure it. If the gauge reads 2/32 of an inch or less, replace your tires immediately.
If you do not have a tread depth gauge, you can measure your tread with a penny instead. Place the penny in the tire tread groove with Abraham Lincoln upside-down. If you can see the top of his head over the tread, your tire tread is dangerously low.
2. The Tread Wear Indicator Bars are Visible
Modern tires come with tread wear indicator bars. These are small raised bars at the bottom of the tread grooves. As tires wear down, the indicator bars rise to the surface. If these bars are flush with the tire’s tread, it’s time to replace the tire.

Your engine may run on gas, but it needs electricity to get it going. The battery is a vital component as it stores the power generated by the alternator, and its lifespan is usually about three to five years. Read on to find out how to know when it’s time to contact your Chevy dealership about a new car battery.
Caring for Your Battery

Although the battery provides the initial charge for the starter motor to get your car going, the alternator will recharge it while the engine is running. Making a lot of quick, short trips will use power more quickly than it can be replaced, so it’s a good idea to make regular journeys of a half-hour or more to top the battery up.
The electrical systems will drain the battery when the car isn’t running and may put it under more pressure as it tries to crank the car. You can also help it by making sure that the music, fans, and lights are switched off when you start your car or park up.
Does Your Chevy Need New Headlights?
How do you know when it’s time to drive down to the Chevy dealership for some new headlights? Let’s shed some light on the signs.
Weakening Headlights

Once you realize that your headlights have become significantly dimmer, it’s obvious they need to be replaced. Headlights can lose their brightness over time, making it harder to see at night or during poor weather conditions. If your headlights have dimmed enough to affect your visibility, it’s time for them to be replaced.
Flickering or Inconsistent Performance
If your headlights are flickering on and off, growing brighter and dimmer without any warning, it’s not just annoying; it can be a serious safety hazard. This issue might be caused by dying bulbs or poor electrical connections in your headlight assembly, and you should have it checked out before your lights can go out completely.

Protecting Your Vehicle from the Chill
As the winter season approaches in the Phoenix Metropolitan area, it’s essential to take proactive steps to ensure your Chevy can withstand the occasional chilly temperatures and unexpected weather fluctuations. While we may not face the extreme cold of northern climates, preparing your vehicle for winter is still important. Here are some essential winter car care tips to keep your vehicle in peak condition:
1. Anti-Freeze for Your Engine:

Ensure your engine coolant or antifreeze, is at the correct level and properly mixed to protect your engine from freezing. It’s crucial to check this regularly to prevent engine damage, especially in colder conditions.
2. Tire Pressure Matters:
Cold weather can cause tire pressure to drop. Low tire pressure can affect your vehicle’s handling and fuel efficiency. Check your tire pressure regularly and maintain it at the recommended levels for your specific vehicle. Don’t forget to inspect your spare tire as well.

Applying for car financing through the Chevy dealer is often better for people than shopping around different banks to secure a loan. It’s ideal for people with lower credit scores, and if you’re looking for low interest rates, then you’ll frequently find them when financing through a dealer.

4 Benefits of Getting Car Financing at Your Chandler Chevy Dealer
1. It’s Best for People with Low Credit Scores
Banks are pretty hesitant to lend money to people who don’t have great credit scores. You have to meet strict criteria to get financing, and even if you go to half a dozen banks, you may never walk away with a car loan. Dealers are way more likely than banks to offer you financing even if you have a poor credit history.
2. It’s Incredibly Convenient
If you go to the dealer, then you won’t need to spend days going from bank to bank to find one that’ll offer you financing with a reasonable interest rate. You can fill out a loan application when you visit the dealer, and the helpful person working with you that day will send the application right off to different lenders.
Lenders will often offer you financing on the same day that you applied for the loan. You may even hear back from multiple lenders within a couple of hours. You can sometimes visit a dealership, pick out your car, apply for financing, and then head off home in your new vehicle just a few hours later.
3 It’s Not Going to Limit Your Choices
You might already have your heart set on a specific model before heading off to the bank to ask about financing. Sometimes, though, you won’t be able to get the model that you want if a bank is financing your new car.
Some banks only work with specific dealerships, and the bank will want you to pick a car from one of the dealers it already works with. If one of those dealerships doesn’t have the car you want, then it can be really disheartening. You won’t have this problem at a dealership because when you apply for financing with the dealer, you already know the dealer definitely has the car you’ve set your sights on.
4. It’s Possible to Get a Low Interest Rate
Dealerships sometimes run promotions where you can get financing with a low interest rate. It’s pretty common to see promotions like this on new cars. Sometimes dealers can get you a loan with 0% APR, and banks very rarely offer interest rates that low.
We’d love to help you get financing for the car you’ve had your eye on, so come by and talk to us at Earnhardt Chevrolet. Any one of our salespeople will be more than willing to help you out.
