Drivers who need an affordable yet top-shelf small SUV to take on their adventures with may find a good home in the 2021 Chevrolet Equinox. But which trim level is the right one for you? Here’s a guide to what each has to offer.

L

The L is the first of the 2021 Chevrolet Equinox‘s trim levels, and it starts the experience off strongly. Every 2021 Equinox sports a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. This engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

On the Equinox L’s exterior, you’ll get 17-inch alloy wheels, a keyless entry system, and heated side mirrors. Inside, you can stay connected with a 7-inch touch screen that’s compatible with smartphone integration programs. The L’s list of safety features includes driver-assist technologies such as forward collision mitigation and lane-departure mitigation.

LS

The LS and higher trims give you access to the traction-boosting all-wheel-drive system. Otherwise, all Equinoxes come standard with front-wheel drive. Some of the most notable changes the LS brings are its standard spare wheel with a jack, access to optional exterior appearance packages, and rear floor mats. Think of the LS as an L that has access to upgrade to more premium features, including the power-adjustable driver’s seat.

LT

Moving up to the LT gives you all the LS’s features, as well as a more impressive driver information cluster, levers to remotely fold the rear seats, and satellite radio. The Equinox LT’s exterior now has chromed elements and more powerful headlights.

The LT has access to the top-level packages. The Confidence & Convenience Package adds parking sensors and blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert. This package also upgrades your cabin with heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

By adding the above package, you’ll have access to two more packages. The Leather Package adds leather upholstery as well as a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a memory function, and adding auto-dimming mirrors. The Infotainment Package adds a larger touch screen that’s compatible with the premium navigation system, a high-definition reversing camera, and an in-cabin 120-volt power outlet.

Premier

The Premier trim level cuts to the chase and gives you all three of the LT’s available packages, as well as its standard features. The Premier also upgrades your SUV’s exterior with chrome accents, LED headlights, larger 18-inch wheels, and a hands-free liftgate. Inside, you’ll see a couple more tech upgrades, including the wireless phone charging pad and ambient cabin lighting.

You can further upgrade your Premium with the Confidence & Convenience II Package. This adds more creature comforts to your Equinox, including heated rear seats, heated and ventilated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. Add the Infotainment II Package for access to the premium Bose sound system.

When you find a 2021 Equinox trim level that’s loaded with the features you’re most excited about, we’d be happy to set you up for a test drive at Earnhardt Chevrolet in Chandler, Arizona. One of the best aspects of the Equinox is that it’s customizable enough to enable every driver to find the perfect SUV to fit their style and budget.
