For the 2023 model year, Chevrolet made a few changes to the Malibu, including renaming a trim, discontinuing an engine option, and adding several standard safety features. Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2023 Chevrolet Malibu is available in four trims: LS, RS, LT, and 2LT. Chevrolet eliminated the former Premier trim and replaced it with the top-of-the-line 2LT. The sedan comes standard with 16-inch alloy wheels and a coupe-like profile that enhances aerodynamics. New colors options are available for 2023 models. You can choose between Radiant Red Tintcoat, Riverside Blue Metallic, and Sterling Gray Metallic, in addition to four other existing hues. The top two trims offer exterior upgrades, black accents, and 19-inch black wheels.
Engine (Power)
Regardless of the trim, all 2023 Chevrolet Malibu vehicles come with the same engine: a 1.5-liter four-cylinder that produces 160 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. It comes paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
Performance
The 2023 Chevrolet Malibu achieves decent gas mileage, especially compared to other vehicles in its class. Expect to get an EPA-estimated 27 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway. Interior

As mentioned, Chevrolet added a few more standard safety features to every 2023 Malibu. These include forward automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beam headlights, front pedestrian detection, and a rearview camera. You also gain GM's Teen Driver system, which lets you set audio and speed limits for secondary drivers. It also includes Buckle to Drive, which prevents the sedan from shifting out of park for about 20 seconds to remind the driver to fasten their seatbelt. With the top-of-the-line trim, you can add automatic park assist, which steers the sedan into a perpendicular or parallel parking space.
