Trim Levels (Exterior)
There are four trim levels available for the new Blazer, and their exterior features are state-of-the-art. The base-level 2LT trim already has much to offer, like 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, LED headlights, and heated power side mirrors. Upgrade to the 3LT, however, and you get a power rear liftgate.
The higher trim levels begin with the RS, which sports a foot-activated hands-free power liftgate, trim-specific grille, and Technical Gray 20-inch wheels. At the top of the trims, you'll find the Premier, which is adorned with silver roof rails, 20-inch machined-face wheels, and exterior chrome accents on the body-colored door handles.
Engine (Power)
Under the hood of the Blazer, you'll find one of two engine options, and both pack a significant punch. At the base level, you'll find a 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that boasts 228 horsepower with 258 pound-feet of torque. While this is certainly impressive, you can also upgrade to a 3.6-liter V-6 with an astounding 308 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. No matter which engine you opt for, however, it comes paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
The Blazer offers a fun and relaxing drive, though its sporty performance is especially notable. For example, it can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in only 6.3 seconds, which is among the fastest in its class. Its design also helps mitigate the body-roll effect, so it corners better than you might think. If you're interested in capability, the new Blazer also has a maximum towing capacity of 4,500 pounds when properly equipped.
Interior
The inside of the Blazer is outfitted with fun features that you and your passengers can enjoy, including a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system that comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with available wireless charging for mobile devices. In terms of space, rear passengers get 39.6 inches of legroom, while you get 41 inches of space up front. The cargo capacity maxes out at 64.2 cubic feet, but you still get 30.5 cubic feet of space behind the rear row of seats, so the Blazer offers plenty of room for passengers and cargo alike for your next adventure.
Safety Features
Considering how many drivers use SUVs as family cars, it's only natural that they come with a suite of safety features. The new Blazer features quite a few driver assistance systems standard with every model, such as forward collision warning with automated emergency braking, HD rear camera, rear seat reminder, and automatic high beams.
