2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV
The Bolt EUV is a new addition to Chevy's electric lineup. It has more space in the cabin than the Bolt EV and a more aggressive exterior style. The Bold EUV is about six inches longer than the EV, providing the rear seat passengers with more legroom. Nonetheless, the Bolt EUV's size makes it easy to handle and maneuver. Moreover, the car boasts of upgraded technology and some added convenience features. Here's what you need to know about the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level Bolt EUV LT has 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, and heated and power-adjustable side mirrors with integrated turn signals. The Premier adds gloss black exterior moldings and black side window surrounds to the LT's features.
Engine (Power)
Power for the Bolt EUV comes from a single electric motor and gearset with a permanent magnet drive motor. It develops 200 horsepower. An advanced 65-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery regenerates on demand allowing the conversion of kinetic energy into energy. The battery stores this energy for later use.
Performance
The electric motor gives the Bolt EUV quick acceleration off the line and can get it up to 60 mph in seven seconds. The battery pack gives it a 247-mile range, and you can charge it using a standard household outlet. The available DC fast charging will give it up to 95 miles of range with a charging time of just 30 minutes. Drivers will appreciate the responsive steering system.
Interior
The Bolt EUV has a nicely equipped cabin that feels spacious and upscale. There's a flat-bottomed steering wheel for the driver, and both trims have a push-button gear selector. The Bolt EUV extends the legroom from the Bolt EV by three inches. It comes standard with cloth upholstery, automatic climate control, push-button start, keyless entry, and a panoramic sunroof is an available option. Behind the rear seats, you'll find a 16.3 cubic foot cargo area, and this can expand to 56.9 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down. Chevy's latest electric SUV comes standard with a 10.2-inch touch screen in the center of the dash and an 8-inch digital gauge cluster in front of the driver. You can get added technology, such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless device charging, and HD radio. A navigation system is also available, and you can get apps such as Alexa and Spotify for the infotainment system.
Safety Features
Both Bold EUV models come standard with safety driver aids such as a rearview camera, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and lane-departure warning with lane-keep assist. Additional safety features are optional. These include rear parking sensors, a surround-view parking camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control.
GM's Super Cruise hands-free driving technology is available for the Bolt EUV Premier. This allows for semi-autonomous driving over certain highways across the United States wherethe Bolt EUV will take over the steering, acceleration, and braking. Even when this feature is engaged, however, drivers are reminded to remain focused on the road.
